Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sliced green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Prepare the Sauce
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, ketchup, chicken broth, minced garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken.
Cook
- Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender.
Thicken the Sauce (Optional):
- Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and keep warm.
- Stir in the cornstarch mixture to the sauce in the slow cooker.
- Cook on high for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
Serve
- Serve the honey garlic chicken over cooked rice.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
